Help! I followed the instructions, but the button is greyed out and when I click +New nothing happens.

Thank you for posting to the Community creating invoices in QuickBooks Online (QBO), @heather106.

 

I have available fixes that we can perform to address unusual behavior in QBO. There are times when some functions don’t work according to their task, this includes other options or buttons. I suggest performing browser troubleshooting to rectify this matter.

 

To start, we can access your company file using a private window. A private window is a helpful tool for troubleshooting browser-related difficulties as it won't preserve any history. The following are the keyboard shortcuts:

 

  • Google Chrome: press Ctrl + Shift + N
  • Mozilla Firefox: press Ctrl + Shift + P
  • Safari: press Command + Shift + N

 

After that, log back into your company and create an invoice. Once done, let’s give your browser a fresh start by clearing the cache or cookies to prevent this from happening again. If not, using one of the supported browsers can also be a smart choice.

 

If the issue persists, would you mind telling me if you have encountered an error message or code aside from the button being greyed out? Moreover, you can record your invoice payments after your client decides to pay their invoices when the issue is resolved.
