Let me share some insights about connecting your new bank account to online bank feeds.

If you're trying to connect your new financial institution in QuickBooks Online (QBO), there are some possible reasons why you are unable to do so. Among these are:

  • Your bank has multiple names on our list. Let's ensure you have selected the correct listing or have tried all possible links. Search by the banking sign-in URL to ensure you're using the correct listing.
  • The bank might now connect to all types of accounts (for example, personal accounts vs. business accounts).
  • Your bank is not a participating financial institution.

To better isolate the issue, we can check with your bank if there's any ongoing maintenance issue. You can also ask for guidance from your bank about the notification message you received. Once everything's all set, just connect your bank account to QuickBooks using your bank's specific URL. Here's how:

  1. Go to Transactions, then select Bank transactions.
  2. Select Link Account.
  3. Enter the URL of your bank in the Search field, then select the bank.
  4. Enter your credentials in the Login and Password fields, then select Continue
  5. Select the account that you want to connect and date to pull transactions from the dropdown. Then, select Next.
  6. Configure your account as desired.

For more information on connecting your bank account to QuickBooks Online, please refer to this article: Connect bank and credit card accounts to QuickBooks Online. If you're unable to see the bank you want to connect with after inputting the financial institution's name or link, it's possible it is not yet supported. To request support, follow these steps:

  1. Go to the Banking menu or Transactions menu.
  2. Click Add account.
  3. Search for the name of your financial institution. If QuickBooks is unable to find your bank, you will get the message, "Hmm, we can’t find [name of the bank you entered] in our list of supported banks," and you will be presented with helpful tips to try and locate your bank account.
  4. If you’re still unable to find your bank, select Request support for your bank.
  5. Enter your bank's web address (URL) in the field provided, then select Request.

As an alternative, you can download transactions from your bank's website manually by uploading them to QuickBooks Online. Here's how to upload bank transactions through Web Connect or import bank transactions from an Excel CSV file into QBO.
