Hi, how do I remove the primary admin on our account? We no longer use that accounting firm.

Only the primary admin can initiate the transferring of role in QuickBooks Online, cshyra.

 

Note that there's no way to remove a primary admin without someone replacing it. If the current primary admin is still available, you can ask them to transfer the primary admin role to another active user for that company file. For a guide on how to change, here's how:

 

  1. In Settings, hit Manage users.
  2. See the user you want to make as a primary admin.
  3. Check if the user is listed in the User Type as Admin. If not, select Edit to change their role to admin.
  4. Choose the ellipsis icon in the Action section. Then, click Change primary admin.
  5. To confirm, tap Change primary admin again.
  6. After that, sign out of QuickBooks.

 

 

However, you can submit a request to be the primary admin if the current primary of that file is no longer with the company. For assistance, scan this attached reference: Request to be the primary admin or contact.

As long as the Primary Admin pays the subscription fee, there is nothing you can do to claim it. Last resort, you can purchase a 3rd party service to migrate your data to a new QBO account.
