Question

Hi, how do I run a comparison of months to prior multiple years, i.e (5 yrs, 10 yrs) - January 2018, January 2019, January 2020, January 2021, January 2022?

I can see how the benefit of being able to run a comparison of months to prior multiple years (i.e., 5 or 10 years) would aid you in managing the business with QuickBooks Online (QBO), @kevin160. That's why I'm here to share a few details about this.

For the time being, you're only able to run a report (i.e., Balance Sheet Comparison or Profit and Loss Comparison) that compares the current and previous years' (January 2021 and January 2022) months of data. We take customer suggestions as opportunities to improve the various features within our products. Therefore, I would encourage you to send suggestions or product recommendations.

Your valuable feedback will be forwarded and reviewed by our Product Development team to help improve your experience while using the program. Here's how:

  1. Go to the Gear icon.
  2. Select Feedback.
  3. Type in your recommendation in the Share your feedback field.
  4. Click Next.
  5. Follow the on-screen instructions to complete the process.

I've attached screenshots below that show the first four steps.

Also, there are a variety of reports that tell you about different aspects of your business in QBO. To know more about running basic reports and details about customizing them to focus on the data you need, I'd recommend checking out this article: Run reports in QuickBooks Online.

On top of that, I'd also recommend visiting this page to keep you updated with the latest software improvements and enhancements with QBO: Customer Feedback for QuickBooks Online.

Let me know in the comments if you have other reporting concerns and questions about business data in QBO. I'm always around to help. Take care, and I wish you continued success, @kevin160.
