Question

Hi,I’m receiving my first deposit from my contractor company, and of course it’s delayed. Is there a reason why it is taking so long to receive this deposit

Hi there, musicplayer1987.

I can share some details about why a deposit can take time to receive. Deposit speeds depend on the product you're using and the type of payment.

If you're a new user of QuickBooks Payments, ACH payments will take a bit longer during the first month. You'll get those payments within 5 days for the first 1 to 4 weeks while we set up your merchant account. You'll receive an email once everything is set up to let you know your payments will process at normal speed.

You can check your deposit speed from QuickBooks Online or the Merchant Service Center. If you don't use QuickBooks Online, check your speed in the Merchant Service Center.

To check the current deposit speed in QuickBooks Online:

  1. Go to Settings ⚙ and select Account and settings.
  2. Select the Payments tab.
  3. Review the Deposit Speed section.

You can also go to the Merchant Service Center to see when a deposit was made. Or check your deposits for the previous month. Here's how:

  1. Sign in to the Merchant Service Center.
  2. Select the Activity & Reports tab and then All Statements.
  3. Find your most recent statement and select View.
  4. Enter the last 4 digits of your Tax ID number.
  5. View the Date in the Activity Summary. This is the date the deposit was made.

I'm adding these articles to show you how QuickBooks Payments deposits work. And, what to do when they're downloaded on your Banking page in QuickBooks Online.
