Question

Hi. I use the QuickBooks app and work from my truck mostly. I can’t seem to add new customers from my contacts anymore which is how I’ve always done it.

Warm welcome, griffingerritsen. I'm here to ensure you can add a customer to your QuickBooks mobile application.

 

To resolve this, let's refresh the application to isolate the problem. It's similar to clearing the cache on your web browser.

 

For iOS:

 

  1. Go to the Help menu.
  2. Select Reset App Data.
  3. Click on OK.

 

Please proceed with the addition of your new customer to the system once again.

 

Moreover, you can modify your customer information anytime and send statements to show the list of their invoices, payments, credits, and balances.

Ask QB assistant a question

 

I just restarted my phone and update the app with no success.  The problems started after a recent update.   
I am also no longer  able to use letters in my invoice numbers in the app.  This makes me have to do invoicing at home on the computer and that just isn’t possible for me to get done in a timely manner.    Thanks-Griff

I can see how hard you tried here. No worries, I'll make it up to you to ensure you never have to deal with this again.

 

Aside from refreshing the application, we can close and reopen the mobile app and add new customers from your contacts again. Also, I'd suggest restarting your phone. If you continue to get the same result, uninstall and reinstall the application to start fresh. Follow the steps below to delete it.

 

  1. Tap and hold QuickBooks Online on your phone.
  2. Drag the app to the Uninstall section.
  3. Select Yes to confirm.

 

If the issue persists, I highly recommend contacting our Customer Support Team. They can check if there are similar reports from other users and help open an investigation into this unexpected behavior. Here's how you can get our contact information:

 

  1. Access your QuickBooks Online through the web. 
  2. Go to the Help menu then choose the Search tab.
  3. At the bottom click on Contact us.
  4. Enter the keyword Account Management and Billing in the What can we help you with? box.
  5. On the next screen, scroll down to How would you like to connect with us section.
  6. Choose Chat with us to initiate a discussion with a live agent.
  7. Enter you account contact information then press Get a chat.
  8. The chat box will appear at the bottom right section of your monitor, and an agent will be with you shortly after. See this:
