Hi wiator49,

I'm here to guide you through the steps in removing a bank account.

With QuickBooks Online, we're unable to delete a created bank account. However, we can deactivate it so you have access to past transaction data for reporting purposes.

Here's how:

  1. From the Transactions tab, select Chart of accounts.
  2. Locate the bank account, and click the drop-down beside View register.
  3. Select Make inactive.
  4. Click Yes, make inactive.

Furthermore, I've added this article as your guide about managing transactions for your other bank account: Categorize online bank transactions.

Keep me posted whenever you have concerns about bank entries.

Hi @wiator49 ,

I had the same problem a few weeks ago and I managed to delete the bank account that I created by mistake. Here's what I did:

1. Go to the Banking tab and select the bank account that you want to delete.
2. Click on the Edit icon (the pencil) on the top right corner of the screen.
3. Scroll down to the bottom of the page and click on Disconnect this account on save.
4. Confirm that you want to disconnect the account and then click on Save and close.
5. Go back to the Banking tab and click on the Gear icon on the top right corner of the screen.
6. Under Your accounts, find the bank account that you disconnected and click on the Delete icon (the trash can).
7. Confirm that you want to delete the account and then click on Yes.

That's it! You should no longer see the bank account that you created in error. I hope this helps!

Thanks

Paul
