Question

How can I delete transactions? I disconnected a bank account but the history of transactions is still in my QuickBooks. How do I delete the old data?

Welcome to the Community space, John. I'm glad to see you here.

I'm here to help you delete your transactions from your old bank account. You'll need to make the account inactive from the Chart of Accounts.

Here's how:

  1. On the left menu, hover over Transactions and choose Chart of Accounts.
  2. Select the disconnected bank account, click the drop-down arrow in its ACTION column, and click Make Inactive.
  3. You'll see a confirmation to inactivate the account. Hit Yes, make inactive.

This way, the transactions from those accounts will be deleted, and the account itself will be deactivated. You won't be able to make transactions that involve that account unless you make it active again.

Let me know if you need additional help in deleting your transactions from your disconnected bank account in QuickBooks Online. I'm always here to assist you.
