How can I deposit physical checks into my QuickBooks checking account?

I have seen online that QuickBooks has mobile deposit but I cannot find it in my app. I've called the support line multiple times and keep getting different answers. I've also read that you can type it in manually and deposit that way but haven't been able to find that option either. TIA

I'm here to ensure you can deposit your check using the mobile app, sg-fixeditg.

You can make mobile check deposits from your QuickBooks Online app through your Cash Flow screen.

Here's how:

  1. Access the Cash Flow menu.
  2. From your QuickBooks Checking balance, click Send Money.
  3. Hit Deposit checks.
  4. Enter the check amount.
  5. Sign your name on the back of your check and write "For mobile deposits only" under the signature.
  6. Take front and back photos of your check. It's recommended doing this on a well-lit, dark-colored surface to capture all four corners of it and its details.
  7. Review the amount and confirm your check images are clear. Retake them if necessary.
  8. Take note of the displayed date for when your funds will be available.
  9. Select Finish depositing.

I've also included a detailed resource about working with mobile check deposits which may come in handy moving forward: Use mobile check deposit with QuickBooks Checking.

For additional information about recording a mobile deposit, you can refer to this article: Add a bank deposit in QuickBooks Online mobile.

Thanks for the quick response.

The only options given to me under "send money" is "transfer money between accounts" and "put money aside in envelopes".

Hi there, @sg-fixedit-gmail.

I appreciate you getting back to us here in the Community. Allow me to chime in and provide information about depositing a check using a phone.

If the option to use mobile check deposit is not visible on your end it's because it's unavailable, the system may not be eligible for this feature. You can check the requirements to make successful deposits at your convenience.

Also, I'm adding a link that contains a breakdown of articles on how to manage the bank feeds, fix common online banking errors: Bank feeds.

You can also check for more information about Mobile check deposits and frequently asked questions to learn more about it.

Let me know if you have other concerns or questions about deposits. I'm always around to help. Have a great day.

For anyone else who missed it, Mobile Deposit is only available on iPhones - that's the only eligibility requirement - not sure why they can't just say that.

If you have an Android like me, find another bank to use. If you have an iPhone, the customer service rep has explained how to find it several times in this thread.
