Hello there, @znarchitects.

Good to see you back here in the Community. I'm to share information about processing a deposit in QuickBooks Online (QBO).

Currently, there isn't a direct way to change transfer transactions to a deposit. You'll have to exclude the transfer from the Banking page and then recreate it as a deposit.

Please refer to these steps on how:

  1. In QBO, go to the Banking menu at the left pane.
  2. Proceed to the Banking tab, then select your bank.
  3. In the For Review section, choose the transfer to exclude. (If the transfer has already been categorized go to the Categorized tab, then click the Undo option from the Action column.)
  4. Hit Exclude.

On the other hand, if you've manually recorded the transfer, you'll have to delete it. Here's how:

  1. In QBO, go to go to the Accounting menu at the left pane.
  2. Proceed to the Chart of Accounts tab.
  3. Find the bank account holding the transaction, then select View Register from the Action column.
  4. Locate and click the transfer to expand the view.
  5. Hit Delete, then choose Yes to confirm the changes.

After that, you can now create a deposit for this transaction. You can refer to this article for the detailed steps on how: Record and make bank deposits in QuickBooks Online.

To ensure your bank account is balanced and accurate, you may consider processing a reconciliation. You can visit this article for future reference: Reconcile an account in QuickBooks Online.
