How can I return the Currency to be USD on Quickbooks app?

When I snap invoices it's showing a different currency and I don't know how to change it back to USD

I'm here to share information on how the snap receipt feature works in QuickBooks Online (QBO).

 

At this time, the receipt snap feature doesn't support different currencies. This means that if your receipt has a different currency, it will show your home currency instead. Therefore, returning the original currency of the receipt is not possible.

 

However, there is a workaround for this. You can manually enter the transaction and attach the receipt to it. 

 

To attach a receipt, here's how:

 

  1. Create an Expense or Bill transaction.
  2. Enter the necessary information.
  3. Drag the receipt into the Attachments section.
  4. Select Save and close.

 

Additionally, for foreign currency transactions, you can manually enter your exchange rates for the amount.

Once your receipts are uploaded, you can categorize your downloaded transactions and reconcile your account.

Is this still accurate information? If so, is there any plan to update this? I moved from another online app that easily took a photo of the receipt and then converted to the currency of the receipt. Can QB online do this yet?

As of now, manually entering the transactions and attaching the receipt, while converting the currency as necessary, remains the method to handle receipts in different currencies.

 

Since this option is unavailable, we encourage you to share your thoughts and recommendations with our product development team. Rest assured, it will be reviewed by the QuickBooks team and considered for future updates.

 

Here's how to submit feedback:

 

  1. Go to the Gear menu and then select Feedback.
  2. Type in your feature request in the description box.
  3. Once done, click on Next.
