Good day, @dfmacleod. Let me lend a hand in matching your transactions.

To ensure that everything matches, let's find and edit the transaction in question. And then we can go ahead and reconcile your account.

First off, let's find your transactions:

  1.  Go to Settings and select Chart of Accounts.
  2. Find the account to review, then click View Register.
  3. Select the Filter icon to apply filters. You can also use the Find field to search by amount, reference number, or memo. Click Apply.
  4. To clear filters, select Clear Filter / View All.

After locating the transactions, we can go ahead and edit the details:

  1. Select the transaction to expand the view.
  2. Select Edit and make additional changes.
  3. Once done, click Save and close.

If there is a discrepancy in your balance that you need to start over, reach out to your accountant. Your accountant knows the appropriate steps to take.

Here's an article with additional information that will help you edit your transactions: Reconcile transactions that are older than your opening balance in QuickBooks Online.

On the other hand, if you experience issues with reconciliation, you may want to review this article for future reference: Fix issues for accounts you've reconciled in the past in QuickBooks Online.

I'll be on the lookout in the comment section if you need further assistance on any QuickBooks-related matters. Happy bookkeeping.
