I have the steps to add the transactions into your QuickBooks Self-Employed account, dj.

To manually add them, follow these steps:

  1. Sign in to your QuickBooks Self-Employed account.
  2. Go to the Transactions tab in the left panel.
  3. Click on Add transaction.
  4. Fill in the transaction details, such as the description, amount, and category (e.g., income, expense, etc.).
  5. Click the Save button to record the transaction.
  6. Repeat these steps for each transaction you want to add manually.

By following these instructions, you can manually input transactions one at a time into QuickBooks Self-Employed without uploading a CSV file.

In addition, you can read this article to learn how to manage your transactions moving forward: Categorize transactions in QuickBooks Self-Employed

I'll be available if you need further assistance adding previous transactions or other relevant issues. You can add a reply. I'm here to help.

Thanks for your quick reply! When I click on add transaction,I get 5 options: 1. Import transactions 2. Add bank account 3. Manage accounts 4. Manage rules 5. Export receipts

None of these allow me to manually add transactions…

It's nice to hear from you again, DJ. I'm joining this thread to provide additional information about manually adding transactions within your QuickBooks Self-Employed account.

The Add transaction button and the drop-down arrow option next to it function differently. Those options you mentioned will only show if you accidentally click the drop-down arrow.

With that, make sure you pick the Add transaction button. Here's a sample screenshot for additional reference:

Following that, you will be prompted to provide the following information:

  1. Date, description, and amount.
  2. Select a category, and you can input additional notes.
  3. Hit Save to reflect the changes.

If the same thing happens, I recommend accessing your QBSE account in a private browser. Using a private browser window can help determine if the problem you're experiencing in QuickBooks is due to your browser settings or extensions.

  • Google Chrome: Ctrl + Shift + N
  • Mozilla Firefox and Microsoft Edge: Ctrl + Shift + P
  • Safari: Command + Option + P

Then, clear browser's cache. Over time, your browser's cache gathers temporary files and data from the websites you browse. Clearing it can boost your browser's speed and overall performance by lightening the load of stored data. Lastly, you can use another browser.
