How do i change a deposit to a check payment in the register

Hello there, @rosiesjy.

 

I'm here to help you correct a transaction from deposit to check payment.

 

QuickBooks doesn't have the option to change the transaction type. As a workaround, I recommend deleting the deposit. Then, create a check payment.

 

  1. From the left menu, choose Bookkeeping or Accounting, then select Chart of accounts.
  2. Locate the bank account where you made the deposit and choose View register.
  3. Search and click the bank deposit transaction to get more details.
  4. Choose Delete.

 

Once done, you can now check how to record the check payment.

 

After recording the transaction, you can categorize and match online bank transactions in QuickBooks Online.
