How do I change the account on a reconciled transfer?

I have a transfer to a checking account that has been reconciled.  The account the money came from was incorrect.  When I try to change it to the correct account I get a warning that this is a reconciled transaction and it could put me out of balance. I try to proceed and get the following error:
Something's not quite right
This transaction is matched to a downloaded transaction. If you want to change the account, you need to unmatch the transaction first.
I don't understand what to do.

First, we need to unmatch the downloaded transactions to unlink and move them to the For Review tab. Here's how:

 

  1. Go to Transactions, then select Bank transactions.
  2. Click the account where the incorrect transactions were downloaded.
  3. Choose the Categorized tab.
  4. Find the incorrect transactions you need to unmatch.
  5. Hit Undo from the ACTION column.

 

You can then proceed to match it with the correct account.

 

Since you've already reconciled the transactions you want to unmatch or change, it's recommended that you seek advice from your accountant. This change can significantly impact your account, and your accountant can help you unreconcile the transactions and make the necessary corrections.

I am using QB online, so there was not "Categorized Tab".  Your instructions gave me enough clues to proceed.  Thank you.
