I try to link credit card accounts and it states ---The account, Corp 6826, has a subaccount that is already connected to an account at one of your banks.

I'll walk you through the steps on how to connect your credit card subaccounts to your bank account, @Ron516.

You'll need to verify with your bank as to which account will transactions be downloaded. If it’ll be on the primary account, you’ll want to connect the parent account. Otherwise, link the subaccounts if they’re imported to each accounts.

This means connecting both of the parent accounts and their subaccounts is currently unavailable in QuickBooks Online. Since you’ve encountered an error message stating that an account has already been connected, that means your parent account was linked to online banking.

In the meantime, you’ll want to disconnect your parent account from online banking. This way, you can connect your subaccounts.

Here’s how:

  1. Navigate to Banking menu and select Banking.
  2. Select the account and then click Edit.
  3. Tap Edit account info.
  4. Tick the box next to the Disconnect this account on save field on the Account window.
  5. Click Save and Close.

Once done, you can then add the subaccounts. To help you sync them, I’d suggest contacting your bank. That way, they can guide you with the process.

After that, you can reconnect its parent account. You can visit this article to learn more about setting up bank or credit card subaccount.

Moreover, please take note that you only need to reconcile the parent account. That's because the bank shows the total account amount, not the balance of each subaccount.

Let me know in the comments below if you have other queries or concerns about subaccounts and online banking. I'll be right around the corner, ready to help out. Enjoy the rest of the day!
