Question

How do I get missing bank transactions to show up? We changed out bank password and didn't realize we need to update it in quickbooks so we lost 2 months of auto updates.

Basically there is a 2 month gap where our bank account and quickbooks didn't sync. How do we get these to populate as bank transactions?

Thanks for reaching out to the Community, @khalil-virginiav. Let's ensure to get your missing bank transactions added to QuickBooks Online.

The transactions downloaded to QuickBooks Online are dependent on the data provided by your bank’s website. To confirm that these transactions are posted in your bank account, you can log into your account on the bank's website and check if you see the transactions.

Manually updating your bank account in QBO helps refresh the connection between your bank and QuickBooks so transactions will show up.

Here's how:

  1. Click Banking/Transactions from the left menu.
  2. Select the appropriate bank account, then select Update.

The steps above will surely help you bring in individual transactions on the register.

However, if the transactions still don't appear, check out this article for troubleshooting steps: Manually upload transactions into QuickBooks Online.

Once done, you can go back to the Banking menu to match and categorize your bank transactions.

Keep in touch with me if there's anything else I can help you with your missing transactions. I'm always right here to help you.

@khalil-virginiav

You can use MT Online or one of the converter tools (e.g csv2qbo @ $60 one time license) as a workaround.
