Question

How do I group recurring transactions. Another thing that was simple in QB 2017 and seems impossible in the new version.

I send out 200+ invoices every quarter.  I used to click on the group and that was it.  In the online version it looks like I have to select each 200+ accounts individually.

The option to create recurring template group is unavailable in QuickBooks Online (QBO). You'll need to create recurring transactions individually, hhhoabooks.

I can see how having this option would be beneficial to your business. Rest assured that the Product Development Team is constantly enhancing the program. They continue introducing new features, interfaces, or other improvements to cater to the users' business needs.

I'd recommend sending a feature request directly to our Product Development team. This helps us improve your experience and the features of the program.

Here's how:

  1. Go to the Gear menu and then select Feedback.
  2. Type in your feature request in the description box.
  3. Once done, click on Next.

You can utilize these articles to guide you in the future: Customize invoices, estimates, and sales receipts in QuickBooks Online.

You can always get back on this thread if you need assistance handling recurring transactions in QBO. My team and I are ready to help you out.

Wow! That's a super-basic piece of functionality QuickBooks Desktop has had for more than 30 years.  It really is amazing how many basic features are missing from QuickBooks Online! Soooo many I can't hope to keep track.
