How do i list client transactions to be most recent on top of list and not the bottom of the transaction list

Hello and welcome to the Community, @tmtlawnmowing.

 

I can help you get that client transaction list sorted right away, see the steps below:

 

Sorting the Client Transaction List

  1. From QuickBooks Online, navigate to the Sales tab and the Customers section.
  2. Select the client whose transactions you need to re-sort.
  3. Click the header of the Date ▲column to flip it so that the most recent transactions display first.

I'm including a brief video example of this process below:

 

Doing this will enable you to sort your client's transactions using whichever column you'd like. We also have an excellentguide on sorting lists in QBO that I'm sure you'll find helpful. I understand I can CHANGE your order EVERY time on all lists, was hoping that would not be required to do and could make ALL LISTS ONLINE TO GO LATEST FIRST "ALL THE TIME" which would make the MOST sense in ALL accounting.  Who needs to see 5 years ago on a daily basis.  Is there an option to do this anywhere??  Thank you for your help

I understand how important it is for your business to automatically see the most recent transactions on all lists. This saves time because you no longer have to change the date manually.

 

When improving QuickBooks Online (QBO), we always take into account our customers' ideas and suggestions. This helps our product engineers know which features to include or consider in the next updates.  You can provide feedback on how you want the online program to work.

 

Here's  how:

 

  1. In your company, go to the Gear icon in the upper right and choose Feedback under Profile.
  2. This action will open the screen that lets you enter your product suggestions.
  3. Make sure to input your thoughts and ideas in the field box.
  4. Click Next to submit. 

 

In the meantime, you can use my colleague's solution to get the most recent entries to appear on the list. Alternatively, you can change the date by using the Filter feature.
