I have some information to share about reclassifying all your transactions at once in QuickBooks Online (QBO), Crystal.

To start, reclassifying multiple transactions at once is exclusive in QBO Accountant and Advanced. If you have either of these subscriptions, kindly navigate to the Gear icon in the upper right corner and select Reclassify Transactions. Keep in mind that when reclassifying transactions, you can only work on one page of transactions at a time.

Here's how:

  1. Go to the Gear icon in the upper right corner and click Reclassify Transactions.
  2. From the Account Types dropdown, select Profile and Loss or Balance Sheet
  3. Choose a date from the From and To calendar field.
  4. Click the Type dropdown and select a transaction type. The same goes with the Class, Location, Customer/Vendor, and Modify dropdowns.
  5. Select Find Transactions
  6. Tick the box that aligns with the transactions, then click Reclassify
  7. Choose what account you'd like to transfer the transaction from the Change account to dropdown.
  8. You can choose None or according to your preferred class from the Change class dropdown.
  9. Click the Change location to dropdown and choose the appropriate choices.
  10. Press Apply.

On the other hand, we can manually edit your transactions from the company register if you're using QBO Plus, Essential, and Simple Start. Kindly follow these steps:

  1. Go to the Accounting menu, then choose Chart of Accounts.
  2. Select the account that you want to reclassify by clicking the View register.
  3. Locate the transaction that you'll reclassify.
  4. Tap this to expand and click Edit.
  5. From there, you can change the account.

You can also utilize a Journal Entry to move the balances from one account to another. I highly recommend reaching out your accountant to guide you along the process.

Moreover, you can also consider upgrading your subscription to QBO Advanced. In this way, you can use the reclassifying tool seamlessly to save time and make changes to multiple transactions at once.

When you're ready to categorize your transactions, you can access this material for more details: Categorize online bank transactions in QuickBooks Online.
