I'm here to assist you with manually reconciling your account, Theresa.

To clarify, are you seeing prompts to connect to your online bank when reconciling manually? If so, can you describe those prompts or at what point in the reconciliation process they appear? In the meantime, you can reconcile your accounts manually without connecting to online banking by following these steps.

  1. Go to the Gear icon and select Reconcile.
  2. From the Account dropdown, choose the account you want to reconcile.
  3. Verify the Beginning balance to ensure it matches the one on your statement. Here's what to do if they don't match.
  4. Enter the Ending balance and Ending date from your statement. Please note that some banks may refer to the ending balance as a "new balance" or a "closing balance."
  5. If available, review the Last statement ending date, which should be the end date of your last reconciliation. Your current bank statement should start the day after this date.
  6. When you are ready to begin, select Start reconciling.

Moreover, QBO relies on the browser cache, and sometimes, temporary browser problems can cause unexpected behavior in the program. I recommend clearing your browser's cache and cookies to see if that resolves the issue. Here's how you can do it for common browsers:

  • Google Chrome: Ctrl + Shift + N
  • Mozilla Firefox: Ctrl + Shift + P
  • Microsoft Edge: Ctrl + Shift + P
  • Safari: Command + Shift + N
