Welcome to the Community, userguyroofingco.

I will share some useful information on how to switch bank and bank accounts on QuickBooks Online (QBO).

When you connect an account to your online banking in QuickBooks, it automatically downloads the recent transactions. However, if you decide that you no longer need to use that account, then you can either disconnect the account or make it inactive. It is recommended to disconnect accounts that are connected to online banking rather than deactivating them. Disconnecting an account simply stops QuickBooks from downloading new transactions, and it won't change your existing accounting data. If you ever need to download transactions again, you can always reconnect the account.

Here’s how to disconnect an account from online banking:

  1. Go to Transactions, then Bank Transactions.
  2. Select the tile for the bank account.
  3. Click on the pencil icon, then select Edit account info.
  4. Choose  Disconnect this account on the save checkbox.
  5. Note: If QuickBooks is in the process of downloading new transactions, you may not see this option. Wait a few minutes for the update to finish and try again.
  6. Finally, select Save and Close.

Furthermore, can you please provide me with more information about why you are considering switching banks? This will help me to give you more assistance in initiating your task. I would appreciate it if you could share any details you have. I'll be waiting patiently for your response.

Additionally, I am sharing an article that may help you move forward after disconnecting your account. It includes information on how to get the latest transactions from your bank and credit card accounts in QBO:

I'm only a comment away if you have any questions throughout the process of switching bank accounts in QuickBooks Online. Take care and enjoy your weekend!
