Question

How do you enable the round trip option on the Mileage screen? Also, why does the start/end address field no longer populate an address when you start typing it in?

Hi there, usercorey-bolding.

Thanks for reaching out to the Community about your mileage concern. I’ll guide you on how to enable the round trip option and get the start and end address field to work properly.

When performing this task, open your mobile device and turn on the auto-tracking from there. The process depends on the phone you’re using.

For iOS (iPhone and iPad):

  1. Open the QuickBooks mobile app.
  2. Choose the icon and select All.
  3. Pick Mileage and Auto-track your miles.
  4. Follow Allow location access onscreen instructions.

For Android phones or tablet:

  1. Open the QBO mobile app.
  2. Then, choose the icon.
  3. Go to the Mileage menu and choose Auto-track your miles.
  4. Provide QuickBooks permission to track your location. This will vary depending on your Android Operating System:

  • Android OS version 10 and below, select Allow and Allow all the time.
  • Android OS version 11 and above, select Allow in settings and then Allow all the time.

In regard to your other concern, log in to QBO using a browser and run some basic troubleshooting steps. This is initial action to perform when you experience unexpected behavior in the online program.

Here’s how:

  • For Google Chrome browser: Ctrl + Shift + N
  • For Mozilla Firefox browser: Ctrl + Shift + P
  • For Safari browser: Command + Shift + N

To start, open an incognito window or a private browser. From there, sign in to your company and go to the Trips page. Next, add a trip and enter the address for the Start point and End point.

If the fields will show via private browsing, clear the cache of your regular browser. Deleting older logs can greatly improve QuickBooks' performance and clear space.

If none of these suggestions work, utilize a supported browser. This is to check if the one you’re using is the source of the issue.
