Hi there, @Sanders11. Allow me to guide you through the process of setting up a card reader in QuickBooks Online (QBO).

A card reader can simplify payment processing, and the QuickBooks card reader is a convenient tool that allows customers and clients to easily view payment and tip amounts through its LED display.

To set up your card reader, ensure that it's linked to QuickBooks Payments for payment processing. The card reader is compatible with both QuickBooks Desktop and QuickBooks Online, and it allows you to accept various types of payments, including Apple Pay, Google Pay and tap credit card payments.

To start, plug in your Bluetooth reader to charge the battery using the USB cable that came with your reader. Once charged, pair it with the GoPayment app

The set up process varies depending on whether you're using the green GoPayment app or the blue GoPayment app. Here's what you need to do for each:

Green GoPayment app

  1. Turn on Bluetooth on your mobile device and press and hold the button on the side of your card reader until it blinks green. This turns on your reader.
  2. Open the GoPayment app and select More and then Hardware.
  3. Select Card Readers from the list and select Bluetooth In the Type section.
  4. Make sure your card reader is on. Then select Add a new reader to start pairing.
  5. Select the name of the card reader to pair it.

Blue GoPayment app

  1. Turn on Bluetooth on your device and press and hold the button on the side of your card reader until it blinks green. This turns on your reader.
  2. Open the GoPayment app and Tap Menu
  3. Select Settings and then Card Reader.
  4. In the Type section, select Bluetooth and Make sure your card reader is on. Then select Add a new reader to start pairing.
  5. Select the name of the card reader in the My Card Readers section to pair it.

Once you've completed the set up process, you're all set to process payments. Simply select the Plus (+)  and then New Payment to take a payment.
