How to import a few months credit card transactions?

Importing a few month's credit card transactions is easy in QuickBooks Self-Employed (QBSE), Reza. We'll walk you through the process so you can keep your financial data accurate.

It's a two-step process to add transactions that are older than the ones QuickBooks originally downloaded. You need to export the transactions from your bank and import them into QuickBooks manually.

Before exporting transactions from your financial institution, make sure to get the appropriate date range to prevent duplicates. After that, sign in to their website and download your transactions as a CSV file.

When you're ready to import, perform these steps on a web browser:

  1. Open QuickBooks Self-Employed in a web browser.
  2. Go to Settings ⚙.
  3. Select Imports.
  4. Click Import older transactions for the account you want to add transactions to.
  5. Select Browse and find the file you downloaded from your bank. It's usually in your Downloads folder.
  6. Choose the file and select Open to start the import.
  7. Review the column headers and data. Make sure the Date, Description, and Amount columns on the CSV match the columns and order in QuickBooks. The other column headers can be in any order.
  8. Select Continue to complete the import.

Additionally, when your transactions are downloaded, categorize them to ensure your financial records are updated.

You can use one of the converter tools (e.g csv2qbo @ $60 one time license) as a workaround.
