Question

I am getting random duplicate paypal transfer deposits showing up in QB books online for my personal bank acct. The transfer was only made 1 time for that amount.

When I transfer from bank to paypal, sometimes we get duplicate transfers showing up on the QB register.

Let's go over some troubleshooting steps to fix the issue, speeddoctormachi.

 

To remove the duplicates, we'll have to delete the transactions that were added to the register. Before we continue, allow me to give you some information about how to handle entries (PayPal) connected to bank accounts.

 

PayPal expenses paid with a bank account show up on both your connected PayPal account and the connected bank account. You'll have to add both transactions to the PayPal account and match the entry with the transfer on the PayPal account.

 

When you're ready, proceed with the steps below to remove the duplicates. Here's how:

 

  1. In your company, tap the Accounting menu on the left panel and choose Chart of accounts.
  2. From the list of accounts, select your personal bank account and tap the View register link under the Action column.
  3. Navigate to the transaction you wish to delete, and then click on it to show more details.
  4. Tap the Delete button and select Yes to confirm the deletion.
  5. Follow the onscreen instructions to complete the process.
  6. Repeat the same steps for any other transactions you wish to remove.

 

Please know that transactions with green boxes in the ✔ column came from your bank feed. They will be placed back into the For Review section if you delete them. To keep your records accurate, you'll need to exclude the duplicates.

When I categorize my transactions on QBO for paypal bank, for transfers, I just need to click the Review, then categorize as transfer to my bank right? I disconnected the paypal and totally re-connected the accounts and am going through 850+ transactions. Really, only 5 categories: Sales, Shipping, Supplies, Transfers, and my QBO software payment.

Why is it on some of the bank withdraw lines on transaction pages is shows 2 or 3 records found for that amount with other dates. Is it looking to make a "rule" or is that line actually having 2-3 of that same amount of withdraw?
