Question

I am going to connect my QB Online to my bank account, but I'd like to restore the previous data if there is a problem. How do I do this?

I know what your hesitations are, Sprtzkr. Let me share the process when using the Online Banking.

When you connect your bank, QuickBooks Online downloads 90-days worth of transactions. They will show under the For Review section. Note that these transactions are not yet added to your register. Here's a link for reference: Connect bank and credit card accounts to QuickBooks Online.

You'll have to categorize the bank transactions so it will go to your bank register. Also, they will be moved to the Categorized section in the Banking page. You might find this article helpful: Categorize and match online bank transactions in QuickBooks Online.

If you added, matched, or transfer a transaction to the register by mistake, we can still undo them in the Categorized section.

  1. Select Banking/Transactions on the left menu and go to the Banking tab.
  2. Go to the Categorized section and look for the transactions that you want to undo.
  3. Click Undo on the transaction.

These transactions will go back to the For Review tab which you can re-categorize to the correct accounts. You can use this link for reference: Unmatch downloaded bank transactions or move them to another account.

We got you covered if you have additional queries when managing your bank transactions. Have a great day!
