Welcome back to the QuickBooks Community, SilverBullet. I'll be sharing troubleshooting steps to ensure you can import and view the latest transactions from your bank in QuickBooks Self Employed.

This error "Error importing transactions. File upload failed." usually appears when you don't have the correct formatting in your CSV table. To fix this issue, I suggest reviewing your data to make sure it follows the 3-column or 4-column format. Then, import the file again.

If the issue remains to occur, I suggest opening your QuickBooks Self-Employed account using a private browser. Then, try to import your data from there. This is to rule out the possibility of a webpage issue, and private browsing doesn't store local files or cache.

Use these keyboard shortcuts based on the browser you're using:

  • For Firefox or Microsoft Edge, press Ctrl + Shift + P.
  • For Chrome, press Ctrl + Shift + N.
  • For Safari, hold down Command + Shift + N.

If it works in incognito, you'll have to clear the cache of your regular browser. This removes the history or log of sites so you can start with a clean slate. If the steps above don't work, use another supported browser as an alternative.

Lastly, you may refer to this artilcle to see steps on how you can categorize the transactions you download from your bank or enter into QuickBooks to avoid double transactions: Categorize transactions in QuickBooks Self-Employed.

Let me know in the comment below if you have any other questions when importing transactions. I'm happy to lend some help, SilverBullet. Take care and have a good one!
