QuickBooks is dedicated to providing a safe and secure platform for managing financial information, NB064.

It's understandable to feel concerned about the security of bank information. However, QuickBooks takes several measures to ensure your account is protected and secure. For instance, QuickBooks employs bank-level security protocols, including encryption, multi-factor authentication, and automatic data backup to secure servers. Additionally, QuickBooks utilizes advanced fraud detection technology to identify and prevent unauthorized access to your account.

However, if you're hesitant to connect your banking data to QuickBooks for any reason, you have the option of manually entering your transactions in QuickBooks Online (QBO) by creating a Chart of Accounts. A Chart of Accounts in QBO lists all your accounts to track your business finances. This includes your bank account, credit card accounts, income, expenses, etc.

To manually enter your transactions, you must create a chart of accounts and import these transactions. Here's how:

  1. Click the Gear icon and select Chart of Accounts.
  2. Tap New, select accounts, and enter all the information needed.
  3. Press Save once done.

To learn more about setting up and adding accounts to your chart of accounts, refer to this article: Add an account to your chart of accounts in QuickBooks Online.

Once you have finished creating a chart of accounts, we can manually add a transaction to the account register. Here's how:

  1. At the top of the list, select the Add journal entryAdd check, and Add deposit  ▼ dropdown menu.
  2. Select the type of transaction you want to add.
  3. Fill out the fields to complete the transaction.
  4. When you're done, tap Save.

To understand how to add transactions directly to an account register. You can check out this article: Manually add transactions to account registers in QuickBooks Online.

In case in the future, you need to locate transactions in your account registers so you can review or edit them. Please check this link: Find, review, and edit transactions in account registers in QuickBooks Online.

If you require additional assistance managing your banking information, please post again and comment on this thread. I'll be happy to lend a hand. Keep safe. Have a great day!

@NB064

You can use MT Online or one of the converter tools (e.g csv2qbo @ $60 one time license) as a workaround.

I appreciate you for joining the thread, Canto.

Let me provide information for you to import CSV files in QuickBooks Online (QBO).

To begin with, each bank formats CSV files differently. This means you may or may not be able to import CSVs from certain banks since files don't have the format QuickBooks needs. Also, there are two different formations which are 3-column and 4-column to upload the CSV.

For more detailed information, you can check this article: Format CSV files in Excel to get bank transactions into QBO

Here are the steps to upload CSV files and import your transactions into QuickBooks.

  1. Navigate to the Profile or the Gear icon and select Imports.
  2. Select Import data.
  3. Select Bank Data in the select record type and select Import.
  4. Drag and drop or select files. Then, follow the onscreen steps to upload the CSV file.
  5. Once the import completed select Done.

On the other hand, connecting your bank account to QBO will automatically download all your transactions.

I'll also add this article to guide your categorizing your uploaded transactions to QBO: Categorize online bank transactions

If you have any concerns about importing CSV, please tag me in the comment section, @Canto. I'll assist you in any way possible.

@ct2025  Don't let any  of the QB employees fool you.  If you search the community you'll find a large number of people that have had strange, fraudulent things happen within their bank accounts.  You're totally justified in your worries and caution with linking your bank account(s).
