Question

I am trying to reconcile my account and it is not pulling up all the transactions for the month nor do i see the transactions in the expense area. Any ideas what to do?

My bank accounts are updated and I do not have anything to match/confirm. I am missing roughly 40ish transactions in QB compared to my bank statement. I have no idea how/where to find them so I can reconcile for that specific month.

Welcome back to the QuickBooks Community, kaiserrestoratio. I'll be sharing different details to ensure you'll be able to reconcile your account.

Once your accounts are connected to online banking and you already match and categorized all of your downloaded transactions, they should show on the reconciliation page. Since the account you're trying to reconcile is not pulling up all the transactions, I suggest reviewing all your entries on the Register page to verify if those transactions are not reconciled.

Here's how:

  1. Go to the Accounting menu and choose the Chart of Accounts section.
  2. Click the View register link of the bank account.
  3. Select the funnel icon and filter it by Reconcile StatusTransaction TypePayee, and Date.
  4. Hit Apply.
  5. Find the transaction and check if you see the letter R under the Reconcile Status (indicated by a checkmark) column. This means Reconciled.

If the mentioned entries appear with R and they shouldn't, you can use the Undo a reconciliation feature to unreconciled previous transactions without manually editing individual transactions from within the register. Please note that this is only available in QuickBooks Online Accountant

Otherwise, manually unreconciled each transaction to undo the reconciliation. I recommend consulting with your accountant before performing any of the steps because it might cause unbalance in your accounts and to ensure your records are in order and accurate. Then, you can now reconcile the account with the right month.

However, if everything is good in your register and the issue persists, I recommend logging in to your QuickBooks account using a private browser. This is to rule out the possibility of a webpage issue, and private browsing doesn't store local files or cache.

Use these keyboard shortcuts based on the browser you're using.

  • For Firefox or Microsoft Edge, press Ctrl + Shift + P.
  • For Chrome, press Ctrl + Shift + N.
  • For Safari, hold down Command + Shift + N.

If it works in incognito, I recommend clearing the cache of your regular browser. This removes the history or log of sites so you can start with a clean slate. You can check this article to see the steps: Clear cache and cookies to fix issues when using QuickBooks Online.

If the steps above didn't work, use another supported browser as alternatives.

Lastly, you may refer to each article below on how you can make any adjusting in your reconciliation and resolve the possible issue after reconciliation:

Please let me know if you need clarification about this, or there's anything else I can do for you. I'll be standing by for your response. Have a great day and be safe!
