Question

I can't link my Lowe's commercial credit card to QBO. They changed their URL and QBO doesn't recognize it. Can I manually add the URL to QBO?

February 2024 and still not working. That's a year and just short of 4 months from the original post. When I first set up QBO, it worked but wouldn't stay connected. However, if I clicked on the reconnect button it would work for that session. I had to do it every session. Now it won't work at all, I have to export from the bank to a CSV file then import that to QBO. There is clearly a communication issue between QBO and Synchrony, and Intuit is in no rush to fix it. It would be better to just say "Synchrony accounts are not compatible" than this "we're working on it" nonsense that clearly isn't true. If it's doable at all, the software engineers should have found a way to do it by now.

We see where you're coming from, Hawthorne-IS. We'll help you review your Banking/Transactions menu to ensure QuickBooks thoroughly downloads your transactions.

Before we start, we want to check if you've experienced any error messages with Synchrony or during the bank transaction downloads. This will help me provide a precise solution for this issue.

Let's begin a manual download of your latest available transactions. This refreshes the connection between your bank and the program. Here's how:

  1. Go to the Banking or Transactions menu.
  2. Select the blue tile for your linked bank account.
  3. Click the Update button.

Next, log in to your bank's website to evaluate your account page for any important messages or alerts. If you make any changes, such as updating login credentials or account information, remember to also update QuickBooks. Here's how:

  1. Go to the Banking or Transactions menu.
  2. Select the blue tile for your linked bank account.
  3. Click the Edit icon.
  4. Choose either Edit sign-in info or Edit account info

For the complete guide, you can refer to this article: What to do if you get a bank error or can't download transactions in QuickBooks Online.

Once you obtain your latest available transactions, review and categorize them. Then, reconcile your accounts so they always match your monthly statements.

We're all ears if you have other banking concerns or questions about managing transactions in QBO. You can drop a comment below, and we'll gladly help.
