Question

I can't match recent QB credit card payments deposited into my bank acct with Sales processed through QB? Can I get a list of the transactions that are in each deposit?

There are not a ton of transactions - roughly 9 sales transactions and 3 deposits. That's all and I can't get them to match the deposits.

Good to see you here, kelly136.

Allow me to share with you how you can find a match with your downloaded bank transactions in QuickBooks.

When you connect your bank for online banking, the system tries to match them with transactions you've already entered into QuickBooks. We use the DateDescriptionPayee, and amount spent or received to get the entries automatically matched.

If you can't make a match, you'll need to manually update your accounts to get the latest transactions.

Here's how:

1. From the left menu, click Banking.

2. Select on the Banking tab.

3. Click Update.

To match follow these steps:

  1. Go to the Banking menu on the left panel.
  2. Click the Banking tab.
  3. In the For Review section, select the transaction you want to match and click the Find match radio button.
  4. In the Match Transactions window, select the Date and if you see any possible matches, put a checkmark on the transactions.
  5. Click Save.

I've attached an article you can read to learn more about matching downloaded transactions: Add and Match Downloaded Banking Transactions?

Once done, it's a great idea to reconcile your account monthly. This ensures your account in QBO matches your bank statement. To learn more about this process, visit this article: Reconciling An Account.

You can run Deposit Detail Report to see the list of all the deposits assigned to a customer.

1. Go to Reports from the left panel.

2.  Find and open Deposit Detail Report.

3. Click Customize.

4. Change the date to customize the reporting period.

5. Go to the Filter section.

6. Mark Transaction Type, then choose Deposits.

7. Click Run report.

You can also email, print, or export this report. I'm adding this link to learn how to do it: Run reports in QuickBooks Online. It provides instructions and detailed steps to guide you through the process.

Keep me posted if you need anything else aside from seeing a list of all deposits and how to match your banking transactions in QuickBooks Online. I'm always right here to help you.
