Question

I connected my business banking app with my personal banking app and now quick books is picking up transactions from both instead of just my business account. How do I stop that?

Hello there, @frannymakhair-gm.

Let me share some information about how QuickBooks handles your bank transactions.

The connection between your bank and QuickBooks account is a read-only type. That being said, the data displayed or downloaded transactions depends on the information shared by your financial institution. It's possible that both of you bank accounts were put under the same online login credentials.

Meanwhile, may I ask for the name of your bank? This way, I can further check the root cause why it is downloading all of your bank transactions.

In the meantime., you'll to consider excluding your personal transactions. This way, it would be hidden from the transactions list and will not be included in the calculation of your taxes.

  1. Go to Transactions.
  2. Select the transaction you wanted to exclude.
  3. Click Exclude.

Also, you can categorize it as Personal. Additionally, you can refer to this article in organizing your income and expenses in QuickBooks once you have confirmed the transactions are posted from your bank: Categorize transactions in QuickBooks transactions in QuickBooks Self-Employed.
