Question

I'd like to import older transactions from a CSV file for a credit card account I no longer have access to and have closed from a later year.

I'd like to import older transactions from a CSV file for a credit card account I no longer have access to and have closed from a previous year. Is there a way to create the account in quickbooks online? I'm using QBSE. Or can I only import it as Cash?

Thank you!

Hello there, @userdominickeska. I'm here to guide you on how you can import your transactions in QuickBooks Self-Employed (QBSE).

In QuickBooks Self Employed (QBSE), creating a credit card account is unavailable. However, you still have the option to import your transactions, and they will be automatically assigned as cash.

Here's how to import them:

  1. Go to the Gear icon.
  2. Select Imports under Transactions.
  3. Click import transactions on the lower part.
  4. Select Browse and find the file you downloaded from your bank.

I've added a screenshot for better reference.

Yes, you can create a credit card account and import your transactions in QuickBooks Online (QBO), without linking your bank account.

Furthermore, you can check out this link to learn how to categorize transactions in QuickBooks Self-Employed.

If you have more concerns regarding your transactions in QBSE, please don't hesitate to leave a reply. I'm available and prepared to assist you. Have a good one.
