Question

I discovered that I keyed in 9/29/2022 as the stmt ending date instead of 7/29. Can I edit the reconciliation ending date after it is reconciled on QB's online?

Let me help you edit the reconciliation ending date, @cinlmilazzo15.

In QuickBooks Online, we can undo or remove the transactions manually from reconciliation to update the ending date to the correct one.

Let me show you how:

  1. In the left navigation pane, choose the Accounting menu.
  2. Proceed to the Chart of Accounts.
  3. Find the account holding the transactions, then click View register.
  4. Select the entry you want to unreconciled.
  5. Keep selecting the letter under the Reconciliation (indicated by a checkmark) column until the box is blank.
  6. Click Save and then press Yes to confirm the process.

You can also invite an accountant to undo the entire reconciliation for you. Make sure to use QuickBooks Online Accountants (QBOA) version. Then, redo the reconciliation process and ensure to edit and enter the accurate ending date.

I'm also adding this article in case you need help managing your reconciled account in QBO: Learn the reconciliation workflow in QuickBooks.

Fill me in if you have any other questions or concerns about your modifying reconciliation ending date. I’ll be here to help you. Keep safe!
