I exported my account and trying to import it into QB, the issue is the export only shows date, amount ( just a number) description then credit or debit.. What do i do

I exported my account and trying to import it into QB, the issue is the export only shows date, amount ( just a number) description then credit or debit.. What do i do. When I import it shows everything as deposits

QuickBooks Online supports 2 CSV formats (3/4 columns) when manually uploading bank transactions. I'm here to share them with you and ensure you'll be able to import your transactions accordingly.

 

Usually, transactions are imported as deposits when all amounts are tracked under the Credit section. To correct this, please make sure to follow the accurate format when preparing the file.

 

If you want to use the 4 column format (datedescriptioncreditdebit), enter the payment amounts under Credit, and the deposits under the Debit column. On the other hand, you can use the 3 column format which contains the datedescription, and amount. With payments, enter the figures as negative, and positive for deposits.

 

I've added this screenshot for your visual reference.

 

When uploading the file, select the 2 column: separate positive and negative numbers radio button from the Map columns widow.
