Question

I have 3 transactions that are pending from May of 2023. How do I get them to be regular transactions?

They were charged to my credit card. They should be regular transactions. The problem is that none of my transactions for the rest of 2023 are showing up. I assume because of these.

Hi, @cgamble

I'm here to help you with your concern about handling pending transactions in QuickBooks Self-Employed (QBSE) and fetching the rest of the transactions from 2023.

To get started, you can log in to your bank's website and check if the three pending transactions have been cleared. Additionally, I'd encourage looking for any messages, notifications, or alerts that can prevent QuickBooks from updating QBSE with new transactions. QBSE relies on the information provided by your financial institution, so it's important to confirm the status of these transactions with them. Once you have confirmed that these transactions have cleared, you can update your bank transactions page by following these steps:

  1. In your QBSE account, go to Transactions.
  2. Select the drop-down arrow beside the Add Transaction button.
  3. Choose Manage accounts.
  4. Select Refresh all.

If your pending transactions are still not appearing correctly and the rest of your transactions in 2023 are missing from your transactions page, I'd recommend reaching out to our Support Team for assistance. Here's how to contact them:

  1. Go to Help (?) and select Contact Us.
  2. Note: If you’re using the QuickBooks Self-Employed app, tap the + button and select Ask QB Assistant.
  3. Enter “talk to a human”, then select Continue.
  4. Select which way you want to connect with us.
  • Have us call you - Get a call from a support expert.
  • Chat with us - Start a conversation with a support expert.

In the meantime, you can manually enter the transactions based on your bank statements in 2023 by following these steps:

  1. Go to the Transaction page and select Add Transaction.
  2. Enter the amount and a description.
  3. Select the Select a category menu. Select the best category to organize your transaction.
  4. If you have a receipt, you can drag and drop it onto the form.
  5. When you're done, select Save.

To ensure you get on hold to our support team on time, I've added our support hours so you can set an available time to reach them out.

When this is resolved, let me add this article to learn more about the Schedule C categories to help you in categorizing your transactions: Schedule C and expense categories in QuickBooks Solopreneur and QuickBooks Self-Employed.

Keep us posted if the issue about pending transactions persists on your end. We'll do our best to assist. Take care.
