Question

I have a glitch on reconcile January. It shows $18.00 more on deposits as well as expenses. Beginning balance is correct. Can you help?

I have add up all the deposits and all the expenses more than once and everything is correct. I don't have anything from previous months that is checked. I don't know what else to do and I have sales tax to pay coming up but the bank reconciliation needs to be done first.

I want to ensure this is taken care of, @maria4.

We can compare the transactions from your bank register and bank statement. This way, we can identify if there's a transaction that isn't in QuickBooks.

Then, review the list of transactions in the Reconciliation window. If you see transactions on your bank statement that aren't in QuickBooks:

  1. Go to the Expenses menu.
  2. Locate the transactions you see on your bank statement, but not in QuickBooks.
  3. If you find any, select and open them.
  4. Check the Deposit to or Payment account. Make sure the transactions are in the correct account.
  5. Select a different account as needed.

Once done, enter the missing transactions. You can use your bank statement as your guide. Record the missing transactions as new sales receipts or expenses.

After that, remove the transactions that aren't on your bank statement under Step 6.

I'll be around to help if you need more banking insights. I'd be glad to lend a helping hand. Have a great day!
