Question

I have a project that won't show in search results. I deleted it and recreated it and now the deleted one shows in search but not the new one.

Has anyone seen this sort of behaviour?

Hi there, @wes-corbinvollst.

Let me share with you some basic troubleshooting steps to address the issue. That way, you can get back to your business.

Sometimes local internet cache files stored in the system can cause unexpected behavior in the product. This can be the reason why your projects aren't showing in the search results.

To check, open your account in a private window. This doesn't save your search histories and would help us isolate the issue. You can press the following shortcut keys to access this mode:

  • Ctrl + Shift + N (Google Chrome).
  • Ctrl + Shift + P (Firefox).
  • Control + Option + P (Safari).

If you're able to see the projects in the search results, go back to your regular browser and clear its cache. You can also use another supported browser as an alternative option. This might be a temporary issue with QuickBooks and the current browser that you use.

On the other hand, you can browse this link for more details: Use projects in QuickBooks Online to track your project’s profitability. Go to Step 8 to understand how tracking project costs and profits work.

You're welcome to visit this thread again if you have questions regarding QuickBooks Online, @wes-corbinvollst. I'm here to assist you. Have a good one!
