Question

I have a "spent" transaction from my credit card processor from my checking account. A refund exceeded the sales for the day. Unable to match to JE

When attempting to match, QBO only shows expenses, not the list of unmatched JEs like it normally would for a deposit. The withdrawl is right and I can see the correct JE, just cant match them.

Hi, JohnCCF. I'll help you verify why these transactions don't match.

At times, some transactions can't find matches from existing records. Make sure to check if it's in the same bank account. Also, ensure that the amount and date are the same.

We can also toggle off the Suggested Matches button when matching transactions to see the whole list. From there, you can see all the possible matches that aren't filtered out yet.

I'll attach a sample screenshot below where you can see the toggle button I'm referring to.

Moreover, here's an article I'd like to share to help you automatically categorize transactions from your bank: Set up bank rules to categorize online banking transactions in QuickBooks Online.

Leave a comment below if you need more assistance in matching your transactions. I'll be here. Have a great day!
