Question

I have multiple accounts at my bank. One of my accounts stopped syncing with Quickbooks. When I try to fix connection, the account doesn't show as an option anymore. Why?

Hi, @ascanlon1.

I'm here to take care of your banking concern today.

When an account stops syncing transactions, it can be fixed by updating your bank's connection in QuickBooks Self-Employed (QBSE). I'll guide you how.

  1. Open your QBSE account.
  2. Go to the Gear icon, then click on Bank accounts under Transactions.
  3. Select your bank, then hit on Refresh All.

After that, you can sign in to your bank's website to review some updates, messages, or notifications. If you need to take any action, the message should give you specific steps or instructions.

However, if you're trying to remove the bank and initiate a new connection but it is missing from your option, you can try replicating the steps using a private window or another supported browser to narrow down the result.

You can use either of these keyboard shortcuts to access a private browser:

  • Google Chrome: Ctrl Shift N
  • Safari 11 or newer: ⌘ Shift N
  • Mozilla Firefox: Ctrl Shift P
  • Microsoft Edge: Ctrl Shift P

If you're getting the same result, you can share the name of your bank having this issue. This way, I can gather enough resources and check our open investigation list. You may also connect with our Support Team so an agent can review the connection between your bank and QuickBooks.

For more hints about fixing banking errors in QBSE, you can check out the topics from this link: Find help with bank feeds and reconciling accounts.
