Question

I have payments recorded that do not appear in the list of available transactions when reconciling the account. What could be the cause and how do I correct it?

Example, Payment from customer X via QBO is automatically recorded for 27 July but while trying to reconcile the account for July the customer's payment is not listed. It is not bundled into a multiple apyment bank deposit.

Hi there, @zuzack.tom.

Thank you for reaching out! I'd be delighted to help you determine why you have missing payments in your reconciliation. I'm here to ensure you can reconcile them.

You may have set filters on the Reconcile page that hid other items. I suggest removing them by clicking on the Clear filter/View all link. See the screenshot below.

If they're still not showing, it can be due to outdated or corrupt cache files in your web browser. Let's try accessing your account through an incognito window to rule out the possibility of a webpage issue. You may refer to these shortcut keys to open an incognito window in all supported browsers:

  • Chrome: Ctrl+Shift+N
  • Firefox: Ctrl+Shift+P
  • Safari: Command+Shift+N

If the transactions appear, you may have accumulated too much historical data in your browser. I recommend clearing the cache so you can access QuickBooks with a clean slate. Alternatively, you can use a different supported browser.

I've also attached this article that'll help you find and fix reconciliation issues: Fix issues at the end of reconciliation in QuickBooks Online.

Please fill me in on the progress of finding these missing transactions. I'll be happy to help until they're found! Thanks again for coming to the Community. Have a splendid week!
