Question

I imported my Etsy sales to Quickbooks Self-Employed, then transferred to TurboTax and it's not showing in TurboTax with no option to re-do it. What happened?

It warned me that I could only transfer to TurboTax once, and it was good, so I clicked yes.  I remember this same warning last year but all went well a year ago, so I am not sure what happened this time.

This is not the experience we want our users to have with QuickBooks, Chris. Thank you for bringing this to our end. I can provide information on how to transfer your QuickBooks Self-Employed (QBSE) data to TurboTax.

I appreciate you for taking all the steps to import your Etsy Sales from QBSE to TurboTax. In order for this to successfully transfer let's make sure to follow some guidelines and review everything after sending the data moving forward.

Here are the steps you need to follow:

The first thing is reviewing your tax checklist.

  1. Sign in to your QuickBooks Self-Employed.
  2. Click on Home.
  3. Choose the Tax Checklist link next to the profile icon.
  4. Select a task on the list. This takes you to the task so you can finish reviewing your data.
  5. Finish the tasks on the tax checklist.

After you finish the tax checklist send your information to TurboTax.

  1. Click on Download Reports and save them to your computer. You may need this information to check certain areas in TurboTax.
  2. Hit Send to TurboTax.
  3. Review your TurboTax sign-in info. Make sure the email address is the one you use for TurboTax Self-Employed. If it's not, select the link to learn more.
  4. When you're ready, select Send to TurboTax.

The last thing is to review your information in TurboTax.

  1. Select Continue and follow the remaining steps.
  2. Answer the questions about you and your tax situation.
  3. Verify your info before moving on to each step.

When everything is already answered, then TurboTax imports your QuickBooks Self-Employed data. If you can't see your data check out this link for the correct steps: Quickbooks-Self Employed data won't transfer to TurboTax Self-Employed.
