I'd be happy to assist you in the process of reversing matched transactions within QuickBooks, magdadinc.

Unmatching a transaction in QuickBooks Online is a straightforward process. Here's how to do it:

  1. Go to Transactions, then select Bank Transactions.
  2. Select the tile for the bank or credit card account you downloaded the transaction from.
  3. Click the Categorized tab.
  4. Find the transaction you want to unmatch.
  5. Choose the blue transaction link in the Added or Matched column to see the matched transaction.
  6. Select Undo from the Action column.
  7. This disconnects the two transactions.

Once you unmatch a transaction, it will be moved back to the For Review tab. You can then match it with the correct transaction or categorize it appropriately. Follow these steps to find the correct match. For more details, about undoing transactions in QuickBooks, open this link: Unmatch downloaded bank transactions or move them to another account.

If you mean to unmatch a reconciled transaction, reach out to your accountant for advice. This type of change can have a big impact on your accounts. Your accountant can help you unreconcile the transaction and make corrections.

On the other hand, you might want to run a reconciliation report for reference when you encounter issues while reviewing your account for the succeeding month.
