Question

I now have 4 bank accounts when I should only have two. How do I merge with quickbooks online?

I can help you merge the bank accounts, @dracoreed.

To merge bank accounts, ensure they have the same Account Type and Detail Type and you're in Accountant view. To check this, you can go to the Accounting menu and see your Chart of accounts list to follow these steps:

  1. Find the bank account that you want to keep and click the triangle button from the Action column.
  2. Click Edit.
  3. Take note of the Account Type and Detail Type.
  4. Hit Cancel.

You can then edit the bank account's name that you want to merge and name it exactly to the bank account which you desire to retain. This will move the bank account data to the other one. In addition, please know that this process is irreversible.

Here's how:

  1. From your Chart of accounts, look for the account you want to merge. Then, click the drop-down arrow/triangle next to View register and select Edit.
  2. Change the account name and click Save.
  3. Choose Yes to confirm the merging process.

Then follow the same process to merge the other two bank accounts. You can reference this article for more details: Merge accounts, customers, and vendors in QuickBooks Online. This includes how to merge accounts with reconciled transactions safely and combine duplicate customers and vendors.

Let me know if you have other concerns with merging bank accounts. I'm always here to help you out. Have a great rest of the day.
