Question

I reconcile once/year. QB asked to relink my chase accounts. 5 months of bank data from '23 from my bank act and CC are missing and can't reconcile. What to do?

I'm here to provide some information regarding how to get your missing data, Veciana.

In QuickBooks Online (QBO), if you have a 90-day or older transaction, you'll need to import it manually by downloading your transactions from your bank. As you import your data in QBO, ensure that you're using the correct format to avoid errors while importing.

Step 1: Download your transactions

  1. Sign in to your online bank.
  2. Follow the said instructions to download the CSV file.
  3. Check the date of range for the download.
  4. Download your transactions and save them on your computer.

Step 2: Import it to your QuickBooks account

  1. Go to the Transactions menu located at the left navigation panel and choose Bank Transactions
  2. Select the bank in question or the bank you'd want to put your transactions into.
  3. Click the Link account dropdown and select Upload from the file
  4. You can either Drag and drop or select files and then hit choose Continue.
  5.  Follow the said steps to match the columns on the file with the correct fields. Press Continue
  6. Select Yes. Once you already accepted your transactions, click Done

You can also learn more about the format of CSV files in Excel to get bank transactions. This way, you'll be able to import the information smoothly.

Further, since you wanted to reconcile your account you can refer to this material since this involves steps on how to reconcile your accounts.

You can use MT Online or one of the converter tools (e.g csv2qbo @ $60 one time license) as a workaround.
