We appreciate you joining us in the forum, Kandon. I have the steps to help you add a bank in QuickBooks Online (QBO) to track your earnings. Allow me to walk you through the detailed process.

In QBO, you can connect your bank as much as you need. Once done, QuickBooks will automatically download recent transactions to help you track tracking earnings. However, there are some possible reasons why you're unable to find or connect to your bank when you search it:

  • Some banks don't connect to all types of accounts, such as personal accounts.
  • Your financial institution has multiple names on our list.
  • The bank isn't a participating financial institution.

To help fix this, I'd suggest using the bank name or URL to ensure the correct listing when you add the account.

Here's how:

  1. Go to Banking from the left menu.
  2. Select Add Account.
  3. Use either the bank name or URL in the Search box.
  4. Look for your financial institution and choose it from the list.
  5. Select the link for your bank's website to open the bank's website.
  6. Make sure you can access your account through this site by verifying that you can see your account information without any errors.
  7. If you access the account successfully, log out of the bank's website. Then, continue to add the account within the program.

Furthermore, if you still can't connect, I suggest requesting support from your bank. Please follow the steps below.

  1. Go to the Banking menu.
  2. Choose Add account.
  3. Search for the name of your financial institution. If QuickBooks didn't find your bank, you will get the message, "Hmm, we can’t find [name of the bank you entered] in our list of supported banks," then you will be presented with helpful tips to try and locate your bank account.
  4. Select Request support for your bank.
  5. Enter your bank's web address (URL) in the field provided, then select Request.

Once the bank connection is successful, categorize your bank transactions and reconcile your account to prevent related discrepancies.

We're always here to respond to you. Consider updating us in the comments if you have further concerns about connecting a bank account to the program or QuickBooks-related queries. Stay safe!
