Question

I went to update my bank transactions and the updating icon will not stop spinning. I have open and closed Quickbooks multiple times and even restarted my computer.

Try opening your QBO account on any private/incognito browser.

Hello there, @CMG13. I appreciate the steps, you've performed to fix the spinning icon when updating your bank transactions.

Before providing any troubleshooting steps, could tell us what specific bank you're using? Any additional information will get us closer to the resolution and check if there's an open investigation about this.

As mentioned by 4Gal, you can open your QuickBooks Online account via a private window. This doesn't use the existing cache files, which makes it a good place to determine if there's an issue with the browser.

Here are the keyboard shortcuts:

  • Safari: Command + Shift + N
  • Google Chrome: CTRL + Shift + N
  • Mozilla Firefox or Microsoft Edge: CTRL + Shift + P

Once signed in, update your bank and verify for any issues. If it works, return to your default browser and clear the cache. Clearing it will refresh the system, and you'll be able to work with a clean slate. Switching to other supported web browsers can also help rectify the issue.

Also, I'd suggest visiting these articles. It contains steps on how to update your bank info as well as other references for solving banking errors.

I'm adding this article with the steps you need to review your online transactions after uploading them to QuickBooks: Categorize and Match Online Bank Transactions in QuickBooks Online.

It'll always be my pleasure to help if you have questions with updating your bank transactions or anything else. I'll surely be around ready to lend a helping hand. Take care and stay safe!
