I would like to add transactions from the last few years.

Let me help you add last few year's transactions to the program, Josh.

 

In QuickBooks Online (QBO), we can manually add the data if you're referring to your bank transactions from last few years. Here's how:

 

  1. Go to the Transactions menu and select Chart of Accounts.
  2. Look for the bank or credit card account for the transactions.
  3. Click View register.
  4. Find and write down the date of the oldest transaction. Usually, the oldest transaction is the opening balance.

 

Then, get transactions from your bank:

 

  1. Sign in to your bank's website.
  2. Follow the instructions to download your transaction CSV files.
  3. Check the date range for the download. It should be at least one day before the date of your oldest transaction.
  4. Download your transactions and save the file where you can easily find it, like your desktop.

 

After that, review the file format and size. You can follow the procedure in this link under Step 3Manually upload transactions. Then, proceed to Step 4 to upload the data.
