I would like to connect my NFS/Fidelity brokerage account to QuickBooks Online so the transactions automatically download. Can this be set-up?

Yes, you can connect your Fidelity account to QuickBooks Online (QBO). I'm here to guide you with the detailed steps.

 

  1. Open your QBO account, then click on Banking at the left pane.
  2. Go to the Banking page, then click on Connect account or Link account (if you have existing bank connected).
  3. Search and select Fidelity.
  4. Input the login credentials, then follow the onscreen pop-ups to complete the process.

It is not asking to handle it as a brokerage account

Good morning, @EMILK. 

 

Thanks for taking the time to follow my colleague's steps. 

 

QuickBooks Online will not request to treat the account as a brokerage account. When connecting the account to QuickBooks, you're adding it as a banking account. 

 

For now, you'll need to consult with your accounting professional for further advice to handle the connected account in QuickBooks. If you don't have an accountant, don't sweat it. You can find one here in our Resource Center. 

 

In the meantime, I've gone ahead and submitted the suggestion to have the option to use brokerage accounts in QBO to our Product Development Team. This way, the feedback can be considered for a future update.
